Byrne and Mitchell doubts for cup tie
Thanks to www.braywanderers.ie
Striker Jason Byrne who has scored ten times already for the Seagulls this term could be missing when Bray take on Shelbourne in the F. A. I. Ford Cup at the Carlisle Grounds on Friday night, kick-off 7.05 ( for T.V.purposes).
There is also a doubt about the availability of central defender Adam Mitchell who also could miss out for personal reasons. Otherwise the starting eleven will be chosen from the same squad as travelled to Derry on Monday night.
Bray's Director of Football Pat Devlin speaking after his sides defeat in the Brandywell on Monday night, said it was a game he felt his side should have won or a least got a point from. He said " Massive lessons need to be learned from that game and the most important one is the study of rules of fair play".
Looking ahead to Fridays meeting with Shelbourne Devlin said "This game should be a cracker,we have already played them twice, in the E.A. Sports Cup and the League and we are very close". He added " Its a difficult one to call, and it looks like whoever has the Cup luck on the night will win through".
********* This will be the ninth meeting between Bray and Shebourne in the F.A.I. Cuo.
******** Bray have failed to keep a clean sheet in the last twelve meetings between the sides.
******** Shelbourne are unbeaten in their last 8 visits to the Carlisle Grounds.
******* Bray have won on only one occasion in the last ten meetings between the sides and that was earlier this year in the E.A Sports Cup at Tolka Park when Bray won 2-1 after extra time.
******* When Bray won the Cup for the first time in 1990 they beat Shelbourne in the 2d. Round after a replay and again in 1999 Bray overcame Shelbourne in the Semi Final on penalties before going on to beat Finn Harps in the Final
